Troubleshooting
Form Errors
How Do I...
The following are items to consider if you experience errors while printing
forms:
- First, check
your printer setup. Verify that you have a valid connection to
the default or specific printer. If you are operating on a network, try
rebooting your computer to establish a connection.
- If you are printing
customized forms in a network environment, forms designed to print
to a specific printer may not be printing there. To correct the problem,
make sure the printer name on your machine is the same as the printer
name on the machine where the form was created. Different operating systems
may identify printers differently, so the printer could be called something
entirely different on your machine. To ensure that customized forms print
to the correct printer, you should be
sure that the name of a printer used on the server is the same name used
on all client machines as well. Get more troubleshooting information.
-
If fonts are not printing properly,
make sure that you have all the fonts established in the design of the
form installed on the computer that you are using.
-
If your forms use a custom paper
size or orientation (for example, 7-inch checks), make sure you
have set up the form printer settings to match the custom page setup.

- If your form
is continuously printing blank pages, you may have incorrect command
objects in the design of the form. For example, you may have unnecessary Read next file record commands.

- If items are
not aligning properly on preprinted forms, your form's design may
need to be calibrated to match the specific printer. A good method is
to print a practice form. Hold the practice form behind a blank preprinted
form and place the two in front of a light source. You can modify the
printer margins in Page Setup or move objects to match the preprinted
form in the Forms Design
window. You can also change the font property of objects to reduce isolated
alignment errors.
- If items are
not printing properly on a customized form, then the error is more
than likely in the design of the form. For example, you may have design
objects in the incorrect order. Tell me more about object order.

having form problems, contact Sage 50

contacting support, print
