This can be used to void accounts payable checks with check numbers
that have been posted but not cleared. You can void checks either from
the Tasks menu or directly from either the Payments
or Write Checks window.
A copy of the original check with the amounts
negated will be generated. The copy will be given a number of the original
check, plus a V. (For example, if the original check was 108, then the
copy will be 108V.)
When you view the check onscreen, the word Void
appears in large red letters.
The new check will be marked as cleared; this
is for bank-reconciliation purposes.
Enter or select the
Void Date
if different from the displayed system date.
Select the Void button.
Sage 50 asks you
to confirm that you want to void this transaction. To void the check,
select the Yes button.
If you want to void
any more checks from this cash account, then highlight it in the list
of checks, and repeat steps 4 through 6. Otherwise, select Close.
Note:
The preceding instructions are also true for the Write
Checks window. From the Tasks
menu, select Write Checks rather
than Payments. Then proceed as
described in steps 2 through 7 above.
