Install a Sage 50 Accounting Product Update on a Server
If you performed a typical full installation of Sage 50 Accounting on the server and the server can connect to the Internet, the product update can be downloaded and installed.
Note: You must be an administrator for this computer to install Sage 50 Accounting.
To install a Sage 50 Accounting product update:
- Open Sage 50 Accounting.
- When prompted to install a product update that has been fully downloaded, click either Install now or Remind me later. If you click Remind me later, the next time you close Sage 50 Accounting you will be prompted to install the update.
- (Optional) Select Open Sage 50 Accounting.
- (Optional) Select View product information in the README. This file may contain release notes that are not included in the online help.
- (Optional) Select Learn how to configure Windows and folders so I can share company data with other Sage 50 Accounting users.
- Click Finish.
- (Optional) Restart your computer.
Note: If the product update has not downloaded, you can open the Help menu and choose Check for Product Updates.
To download and complete a server-only installation of a product update:
Note: The Sage 50 Accounting Connection Manager cannot be installed on a network-attached storage unit or network drive.
- Open the Connection Manager in either of the following ways:
- Open the Start menu and choose Sage 50 Accounting Connection Manager from the Sage 50 Accounting program group.
- Click the system tray icon.
- Click Update. If a product update is available, the update will download.
- Follow the prompts.
- Read the Licence Agreement and click I Agree to continue.
- Click Install.
- Click Finish once the installation is complete.
- (Optional) Restart your computer.
Note: Or, if the server is not connected to the Internet but you have the product update installation file, double-click the installation file. When the launch window opens click Install Sage 50 Accounting.
