In addition, if you are entering a transaction that involves an employee, general ledger account, job, or inventory item ID, you can quickly set up a new record ID by following these steps:
The field turns dark blue and flashes three time to indicate that the record does not currently exist in the database.
The "Invalid ID" message appears.
The appropriate maintenance window appears. For example, if you entered the ID of an employee who is not in the database, the Maintain Employees/Sales Reps window appears.
When finished, select Save to save the record, and close the maintenance window.
Sage 50 saves the record. The original transaction window you were working in returns.
