Change the default number of decimal places for data entry
Set up other global options for Sage 50
To determine the way decimal points are inserted in Sage 50, set up the Decimal Point Entry option on the Accounting tab of the Maintain Global Options window. You have the choice of allowing Sage 50 to place a decimal point in figures or to enter the decimal point yourself.
Sage 50 uses the U.S. currency format of two decimal places. If you use other international/regional/settings in the Windows Control Panel, Sage 50 data will appear incorrectly and possibly generate errors. This includes comma separators.
Quantity and Unit Price fields: Use these two drop-downs to set the default number of decimal places Sage 50 uses for quantities and unit prices. This can give you a greater level of precision in rounding and tracking amounts. You can select from zero to five decimal places; the default is two. For example, if the default is set to two, then entering 1075 will display 10.75. Entering 75 will display 0.75. Entering 1.075 will display 1.08.
Standard fields: This drop-down lets you set the default number of decimal places for a variety of measures other than quantities and unit prices. Again, you can select from zero to five decimal places, and the default is two. See a list of measures that fall into the "standard fields" category .
