When you select the Journal button in the Purchase Orders window, Sage 50 displays the Accounting Behind the Screens window. The Purchase Orders Journal tab displays the corresponding transaction's journal entry. You can modify the transaction by changing account IDs of journal distributions listed.

Note: Purchase Orders are not posted to the General Ledger. When you record the purchase invoice for shipped or received items in the order, the transaction is posted to the General Ledger.

For assistance with debits and credits, see Journal Entry Distributions—Purchase Orders.

To return to the Purchase Orders window, select OK. Then, select Save or Print to record the modified transaction in the Purchase Orders Journal.
