User Rights and Non-Sage 50 Accounting Products
Once you add a password for the system administrator, a non-Sage 50 Accounting product (like Microsoft Access) needs a user name and password to open company data.
When you create a new company, Sage 50 Accounting sets this option to no access from third-party products. If you are converting from an earlier version of Sage 50 Accounting, however, third-party products have full access to your company data. In either case, you can change your access rights at any time.
Access Rights | Description |
---|---|
No data access | The user can only alter the data from within Sage 50 Accounting. |
Read data | The user can read all of your company data from a non-Sage 50 Accounting product (except for reports in which the user has no viewing rights) even if the user has limited access rights in Sage 50 Accounting. |
Read and write data | The user can read and alter the data using a non-Sage 50 Accounting product. We strongly recommend that you do not alter data outside of Sage 50 Accounting to avoid violating accounting rules without receiving the appropriate warnings. |
