Financial Manager Key Balances Data

The Financial Manager provides a brief, overall financial picture of how your business is performing.

  • To display key financial balances for your business, select the Key Balances display option in the Financial Manager window.

All displayed values on this window are based on what is specified in the Date field. When you change the date, the system refreshes the Financial Manager data displayed. You can also refresh the financial data by selecting the Refresh button at the top of the window. How does Sage 50 calculate balances based on specified dates in the Financial Manager?

Key financial balances can be displayed in two formats:

  • Numeric level: Select the Numeric button to display a table of key balances as of the date specified.
  • Spreadsheet level: Select the Spreadsheet button to display a comparison table of key balances as of the date specified. It also includes ending balances for up to 36 previous accounting periods.

All calculations are rounded to two decimal places.

Key balances data consists of values for the following (as of the date specified in the Date field):

  • Cash = the sum of all Cash account types
  • Accounts Receivable = the sum of all Accounts Receivable account types
  • Inventory = the sum of all Inventory account types
  • Accounts Payable = the sum of all Accounts Payable account types
  • Total Assets = the sum of all Cash, Accounts Receivable, Inventory Other Current Assets, Fixed Assets, Accumulated Depreciation, and Other Assets account types
  • Total Liabilities = the sum of all Accounts Payable, Other Current Liabilities, and Long Term Liabilities.

Included on the window are current and year-to-date totals for the following (as of the date specified in the Date field):

  • Income = the sum of all Income account types
  • Cost of Sales = the sum of all Cost of Sales account types
  • Expense = the sum of all Expenses account types
  • Net Income = Sales – (Cost of Sales + Expenses)
