What are OLEDB and ODBC?

ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) and OLEDB (Object Linking and Embedding, Database) offer you a way to connect to your Sage 50 company data without using Sage 50 directly. That is, you can create an ODBC or OLEDB connection directly between another application, such as Microsoft Excel or Access, and the data in your Sage 50 company, such as customer records, transactions, and so on. In this way, you can create reports in these other programs and filter or sort your company data in virtually any way you want.

Note: This sort of connection to your Sage 50 company data will work with any software application that supports OLEDB or ODBC.

For instructions on how to use OLEDB and ODBC to connect to your Sage 50 company data using Microsoft Excel (as a single example), click the links below.
