Sorting Financials in QuickBooks (QuickBooks Conversion)

If you used Payroll in QuickBooks, some of your balances will not be correct because Sage 50 will not convert Payroll. This will make it difficult to check the accuracy of your financials when you compare Sage 50 reports to QuickBooks reports. You can filter out certain Payroll type transactions from QuickBooks financials, such as the Profit & Loss statement and the Balance Sheet. Doing this will help you check the accuracy of the remaining accounts.

  1. In QuickBooks, run the Balance Sheet (or Trial Balance).
  2. Click Customize Reportor Modify Report.
  3. Click the Filters tab.
  4. Choose to Filter by Transaction Type
  5. Tab to the Transaction Type drop down list, and select Multiple Transaction Types.
  6. On the Select Transaction Types, CHECK everything except the following: Paycheck/Payroll Liability Check/YTD Adjustment. Click OK.
  7. On the Modify Report window, click OK.
  8. The report will refresh with the applicable data appearing, and the Sage 50 Balance Sheet and the QuickBooks Balance Sheet should now match.
