Specific Unit Costing

How Do I...

All serialized inventory items use the Specific Unit costing method. Specific Unit costing allows you to specify a cost for each individual serialized item. You assign the cost when you add the serialized item to your inventory, or enter an originating transaction. The cost follows the item through its life and is used when the item is sold. If no cost is associated with the originating transaction—for example on an adjustment—the last cost will be used.
