Set Up Item Shipping Methods

How Do I...

Shipping methods can identify various carriers (for example, USPS Mail, Priority Mail, Federal Express, UPS Ground, UPS Air, Airborne Express, and so on) or they can identify how an item is shipped (Courier, Overnight, Mail, and so on).

To set up item shipping methods

Use this procedure to set up shipping methods that will be used in invoicing.

1. Click the Inventory Items navigation aid on the Inventory & Services Navigation Center and select Set Up Inventory Defaults. The Inventory Item Defaults window is displayed.
2. Select the Taxes/Shipping tab.

3. Enter a description for each of your shipping methods. You can enter up to 20 alphanumeric characters.

   Examples include None, Courier, Hand Deliver, Customer Pickup, UPS Ground, UPS Red, UPS Blue, US Mail, and FedEx.

4. When you are finished, click OK.

Apply shipping methods to invoices

• In either any sales or purchase invoice-related transaction window, select the appropriate shipping method from the Ship Via drop-down list.
