Convert DacEasy Company - Chart of Accounts

How Do I...

Your company's chart of accounts is a complete list of all account names that will be used in the general ledger. Each account is associated with an account ID to help locate it when recording data. Charts of accounts can vary depending on the type of business. Sage 50 provides sample companies from which you can copy the chart of accounts. This is a useful shortcut to set up your company. Later, you can modify the chart of accounts to meet the specific needs of your business.

  1. Select the chart of accounts that matches your industry type from the list. For example, if your company sells cakes and pastries, you could select Bakery Shop from the list. If your company is general in nature, you could select Sales or Service.
  2. To view more information about an industry, select the About Your Industry button.
  3. To display the chart of accounts you selected, select the View Chart of Accounts button.
  4. To continue, select the Next button. Sage 50 displays the next Convert DacEasy Company window.
