Using the Trial, Educational, and Student Versions of Sage 50
The trial, educational, and student versions of Sage 50 offer most of the functionality of the full versions of Sage 50, but they do have a few limitations.
Some services and functionality will not be available in these versions; for example, credit card processing. These are services that you sign up and pay for in full versions of Sage 50.
Trial version:
- The trial version can be used for 30 days.
- You can convert the trial version to a full version of Sage 50.
- You can only open the sample companies or create new companies in the trial version. If you create a new company in the trial version, you can use this company in a full version of Sage 50 provided that the full version is the same version that the company was created in or higher.
Educational version:
- In addition to creating new companies, you can open companies that were created in the educational version and the student version.
- You can open companies created in the educational version in Sage 50 Premium Accounting or higher in the same release year or future years.
- You cannot convert the educational version to a full version of Sage 50. You must uninstall the educational version and then reinstall the full version.
Student version:
- In addition to creating new companies, you can open companies that were created in the student version or the educational version of the same release year. You can only use companies in the student version for 14 months.
