Sage 50 automatically enters the next proposal number in the Proposal # field. If you have not yet entered either a proposal or sales order, this field is blank. Once you enter a proposal number or sales order number for the first time, Sage 50 increases this number by one for the next proposal. For example, if you first enter a proposal number of 1000, Sage 50 assigns the next proposal the number 1001. This is a required field, and no duplicate proposal numbers are allowed. Nor can a proposal have the same number as a sales order.
