Entering a Key Code
Note: If you purchased a monthly use subscription from Sage, click Retrieve my Key Code from Sage 50 Accounting online to enter your activation key code. You must be connected to the Internet to do this.
There are three instances where a key code is entered in the program:
- After installation and registration
Following registration, you will receive your Account ID and key code which you enter to activate your copy of Sage 50 Accounting. To activate Sage 50 Accounting, in the Home window, click the Activate Sage 50 Accounting option on the Help menu and enter the Account ID and key code. This menu option remains available when you need to activate your software.
Note: You can use your copy of Sage 50 Accounting for 15 days without activation. When you run Sage 50 Accounting after 15 days, you must register your software in order to continue using it.
- When you upgrade your current copy of Sage 50 Accounting
Moving up from one Sage 50 Accounting product to another is as easy as entering a new key code in your current program. Your program is updated immediately, and your company data is updated the first time you open it in your updated program.
- When
you add more user licences to your current copy of Sage 50 Accounting
If you want your 5-user licence of Sage 50 Quantum Accounting to allow more concurrent users, you can get a new licence for additional users. Like upgrading, adding more user licences to your copy of Sage 50 Accounting is simply a matter of entering a new key code in your current program.
