This tab shows you the account type and GIFI code associated with the account.

If the account type is Subgroup Account or Group Account, and has a zero balance, you can omit the account from any financial statements.

This tab shows you the account class associated with an account, the account type for banking accounts, as well as the opening or current balance for a banking account.

When you first create a new company in Sage 50 First Step Accounting, you can add an opening balance to these accounts:

• Bank accounts
• Business operating accounts

The account balance cannot be changed once you start a new year in Sage 50 First Step Accounting.
