Use Sage 50 Accounting to file your goods and services tax/ harmonized sales tax (GST/HST) returns directly to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) using the their GST/HST Internet File Transfer service. To find out if you are eligible for this service, go to the CRA web site or contact the CRA directly.
To file your GST/HST return, create an electronic version of your return in Sage 50 Accounting and save it on your computer. You can then use Sage 50 Accounting to submit your return or submit the file directly on the CRA web site.
Note: Sage 50 Accounting does not support the GST/HST or QST online filing service for Revenu Québec.

After an electronic GST/HST return file is saved on your computer, Sage 50 Accounting prompts you to record an invoice in the Purchase journal (if you owe money) or in the Sales journal (if you're getting a refund). You can choose to pay the invoice or record the receipt immediately or on a later date.
If you entered any amounts in the GST/HST electronic form that were not tracked by an account, the total amount is displayed as an Adjustment Amount. To maintain accurate records, you also need to select an account to track this amount in the Adjustment Account box. Consult your accountant if you have any questions about how this account should be used or how this amount should be handled.
The total untracked amount is displayed at the bottom of the GST/HST Online Filing form window in a note. For example: "The difference between the values entered above for the GST/HST return and the values from the selected GL accounts is 100.00" where $100.00 is total untracked amount.
